Zoey Report

Just a note to let you know Zoey is the light of my life.

We were at the World Horse Show, she would see someone in a golf cart, climb in for a ride.  No one denied her.

At the Select World Horse show no one asked me about breeding to my stud.  They all wanted to know where Zoey came from.

Boomer told me Harley is the best present he ever had.***

***Boomer is April's son.  April talked me into selling her a littermate to her Zoey for her son in college---living in a dorm, far away from home! I can hardly believe I went for that myself, but there are always exceptions, and Boomer was one of them.  April assured me the puppy would have a home with her if things didn't  work out with Boomer and his new pup Harley.  When April told me how Boomer walked out on a training class with Harley becasue he disagreed with the punitive methods of the class, I knew it had been a good decision.

10 days

New stuff to report, eyes are opening.  They can't see much yet, but I am sure they are seeing light and shadows. Ears are just starting to open up the samllest bit.  We did our first nail trimming, this did not phase the pups but Faye was not ahppy and responded by licking their bottoms to try to get them to pee on me so I would put them down. The pups have spent the day upstairs.  Here are pictures from today:

3rd and 4th day report

For the first couple of days after the puppies were born I was very concerned about the amount of milk Faye had---she simply had way too much. Her teets were so swollen and hard.

This is a concern as it could result in milk fever, which is very painful and if not tended to could develop into a deadly situation.  I began plan to seek out some orphaned pups in need of a milk-nurse to help relieve the over abundance of milk.

Today I am happy to report that the 3 piglets have done a stellar job of eliminating all excesses of the milk supply.....and it shows...these guys are little porkers.

Tiffany---Funny says she can't wait for you to see her new babes too.  Though, she thinks I "mess" with them way too much!
