Op-Ed Columnist: The Segmented Society
By DAVID BROOKS
People have been writing about the fragmentation of American music for decades. But year after year, the segmentation builds.
I just had to read this article and it reminded me of home....sooooooo Minnesotan!
NATIONAL | November 20, 2007 Minneapolis Journal: For Children of Norway, a Rift With the
Mother Country
By MONICA DAVEY
Norway’s decision to shut its career consulate in Minneapolis has upset residents of the Upper Midwest, which is home to more
Norwegian-Americans than any other region of the country.
***Boomer is April's son. April talked me into selling her a littermate to her Zoey for her son in college---living in a dorm, far away from home! I can hardly believe I went for that myself,
but there are always exceptions, and Boomer was one of them. April assured me the puppy would have a home with her if things didn't work out with Boomer and his new pup Harley. When
April told me how Boomer walked out on a training class with Harley becasue he disagreed with the punitive methods of the class, I knew it had been a good decision.
Baby-dog Bogey is doing great! Bogey is just old enough to compete CPE agility. He is an adolescent in-tact male, but he does have a very experienced agility owner.
This past weekend Kim, his owner/co-breeder, and Bogey had the following results at the Dexter MI CPE trial:
Fullhouse 1st Place
Colors 2nd Place
Jackpot 2nd Place
Wildcard 2nd Place
Jumpers 2nd Place
Chevy and Margot cleaned up! Margot saw the announcement for a new organization offering titles in obedience with similar but slightly different rules from AKC. The trial was nearby
at Northfield Dog Training, so she registerd Chevy and started practicing. A whole two weeks later they have a new title CD-H, St. Hubert's Companion Dog title.
Congratulations!!!
Chevy was first place and High-in-Trial Novice-A dog all three legs of her title!
New stuff to report, eyes are opening. They can't see much yet, but I am sure they are seeing light and shadows. Ears are just starting to open up the samllest bit. We did our first
nail trimming, this did not phase the pups but Faye was not ahppy and responded by licking their bottoms to try to get them to pee on me so I would put them down. The pups have spent the day
upstairs. Here are pictures from today:
Congratulations to Margot and Chevy! First Place and Highest Scoring Novice A! Shown at the St. Hubert Obedience Trial at Northfield Dog Training, Ann Arbor, Mi, Saturday 16,
2007. This is Chevy's first trial after a two year hiatus while her Mom recovered from a foot injury.
