It is what I experienced tonight….A true friend is someone who bundles up drives over to your house in a snow squaw, brings her flashlights, tromps through a corn field in twenty degree weather helping you look for your moronic dog who lost himself chasing deer. Barb Eichman came to me and Eli’s rescue after three of my dogs took off and only two returned. I was ready to give up for the night but Barb would not hear of it. She bundled herself up (while on call mind you), and helped me find Eli. If it had not been for Barb I would have not found him. She kept me going and pushing me and calling Eli and had the faith we would find him tonight. Thank you Barb from the bottom of my heart. Liesje's first time ever in the ring at a real show and they did great!
"Kenya (Chopper) and I got our first rally legs today! Kenya is my first dog and this was our first show so I was very nervous. We did Novice A and got an 86 and a 92. I got some pics with our ribbons and some still shots from a video (both thanks to Lu!). I will upload the video of our second run later."
Lies and chopper with their qualifying ribbons and the 3rd and 4th place placement ribbons. they get my vote for the happiest and most attractive team!

I just finished "Returning to Earth" by Jim Harrison, a Michigan native.
You do not read this book, you savor this book. I frequently re-read passages to enable myself to dwell in the images and thoughts.
This is a sequel or sorts to "True North." I would recommend both books but I favor "Return to Earth." The characters are real, gritty...human.
I will re-read this book, which says a lot for someone that has no patience for reading the same book or seeing the same movie twice.

The tears just keep flowing... Last year when the Golden rescue in MN took
in something like 100 puppy mill Goldens I reached out to my puppy list to help
just one of these dogs, with each of us making a small donation to collectively
sponsor one dog for $325.00. The grand total we raised in less than 30 days was
$2077.97 which included donations from two little girl's piggy bank money. The whole story is

Tina who sent the donation has had 3 dogs from me, and is a very dear
