Too cold for much more than noses

These guys were playing right at the base of Blue Spring. 35 degree outside temp, 69 degree water temp in the spring. When the temperature drops, the manatees must move out of the river and into the springs to survive the cold weather.
This cow tucked her very young calf under the mangrove. She is checking on it.

This Barred Owl has been visiting my yard. It was pitch black when I took these pix so not too easy to focus.
Last night it was sitting on the roof of my pump house—perfect photo op. However, it is too large for me to leave Batman unattended while I get my camera. Hello, Jennie…Batman was carried off by a big owl. Do you think she’d believe me? Hey, that’s a good one! Hello, Michigan People….Gustavo was carried off by a big owl.
Tonight when we make our potty trip, I will bring my camera just in case.
