Our training club annual awards banquet was held tonight recognizing each dog and handler team for titles or community recognition earned during the year. We had a nice dinner and afterward the award presentations. Our database manager also put together a lovely video showcasing photos and video clips of our club members pursuing their individual passions with their canine companions.
For 2016 Ziva earned the following titles;
PAM – Performance Award of Merit from the GSDCA, given in recognition and appreciation of animals who display the versatility of the breed by performing in a variety of different performance events..
VCD 1- Versatile Companion Dog 1, ACT 1 – Agility Course Tested Level 1, NAP- Novice Agility Preferred , NJP – Novice Jumpers Preferred, DN – Dock Novice (DN).
Not to be forgotten, Libby also earned a few titles;
RE – Rally Excellent
TDIA – Therapy Dog from Therapy Dog International
There was also an award that I did not remember from past years banquets. The club awards a perpetual trophy to the dog and handler team that has earned the most titles with their Novice A dog and this year to our surprise, it was passed down to Ziva and I! Only then did I find out that the last time this trophy changed hands was in 1998! That is why I didn’t remember it. Ironically the last recipient was very longtime member Charlie and his first German Shepherd Zevah! He asked to personally present the award to us and announced “German Shepherds Rule!” Charlie’s last GSD passed away several years ago and at club functions he is usually close by giving my girls attention. Somehow they know he is a German Shepherd guy and they are always thrilled to see him. It was fun visiting with friends and reflecting back on last year and looking forward to our adventures to come.
Congratulations!
Conrgatulations Libby, Ziva and Lisa.
