The New Alternative to Obtain a Körung

The alternate and easier path to a körung are as follows:
  1. Formal Certification:
    • Hips
    • Elbows
    • DNA
  2. ZAP 1 (Wesen test)
  3. Breeding Evaluation
  4. BH (Begleithund) not required
  5. AD (Ausdauerpruefung)
  6. ZAP2***, the dog will still have to pass three phases at one trial: tracking, obedience, and protection. However, it is a watered-down version of IGP (IPO).
  7.  Once the above requirements have been met you can submit your dog for a Körung and after passing the examinations your dog will obtain its Koerklasse designation (KKL).
***Dogs obtaining their KKL with this method (without IGP titles) are not eligible for the VA designation.
