Today was a day for something completely different for Aiden and us. The day began with rainy conditions and the threat of thunderstorms as we headed to Purina Farms for the Coursing Ability Test.
Me, Andrea and Aiden waiting for Aiden’s turn to run the course
While we were waiting Aiden ran into another relative, Alta-Tollhaus Edelweiss Jessica
We have never tried Lure Coursing before and had no idea what to expect. At the beach Aiden loves to chase birds and he also loves chasing squirrels. We hoped that the lure might look like a squirrel or bird to Aiden but we weren’t sure. The lure operator did a great job of making the lure act like a critter and Aiden was more than happy to give chase.
There was a test in the morning and one in the early afternoon. Aiden passed in both tests earning two legs towards the Coursing Ability Title.
Later in the afternoon another first for the three of us….a Dock Diving Trial! We have practiced over the summer on a pond and once in a pool but we have never tried it on a regulation dock.
It takes 5 qualifying jumps to obtain a title and today Aiden earned 3.
Looks like fun! It seems Aiden is always up for trying something! Congratulations!
It was really fun to try new events.
Aiden loved everything we did at the National…EXCEPT AKC Utility obedience!! LOL!
