Blake (Dux x Pala) earned his NW1 from the National Association of Canine Scent Work this past Saturday in Toledo. He had to find 4 hides – interior, exterior, vehicle and containers. He even received “Pronounced” on 2 of the hides. My instructor says that’s really good. I’m new at this, I’ll have to look it up. It is so much fun watching them work a scent. The judge’s note that made me the happiest was, “Great team work. Nice praise by you to the dog. He loved it.” It brought a tear to my eye. That is what it’s all about!!
Ginger went along for the ride because you can only enter one dog in a trial.
Congratulations Katy and Blake-where is his big ole ribbon??? Does Blake have his TDX ? Are you doing nosework with Ginger too?
By the time they were handing out ribbons it was raining so no photo-op at the trial with the ribbon. Since you can only handle one dog at a trial, I had a “Sophie’s Choice” and picked Blake. I am a rebel and work both dogs in tracking and nose work. Ginger has her TD, but last spring Blake had a horrible case of spring brain and didn’t certify. He’s tracking great now and I hope to try again soon.
Good deal, keep us posted.
Congratulations Katy!!!! Great job! Sorry to take away from Blake’s accomplishment, but that Ginger is a looker! Blake is too of course. But love that dark face on Ginger.
It’s important in a relationship for the girl to be prettier than the boy so Ginger had to be gorgeous
LOL
Congratulations on your NW1! Our dogs love this type of scent work.
