Today was the first day of the three day Cape Cod Kennel Club Agility Trial. The trial is held at the Barnstable County Fair Grounds in Falmouth, MA. This is most likely the last agility trial Aiden will be entered in until the fall. Summer is a busy time for both Jack and I and it gets too hot for outdoor trials.
Since this is held so close to home my mother likes to go one of the days. Today was that day. Unfortunately with outdoor trials you are subject to the weather and it was a very rainy day.
The first class of the day was Open FAST. The “bonus” was jump, send out to a tunnel and then another jump. Aiden did the jump, the tunnel and was jumping over the last jump when I called his name causing him to turn mid air and down went the bar. My fault! He had more than enough points but NQ. There is no video of this run as Jack was not there and it was raining so hard I could not find anyone to take a video for me.
The second class was Open Jumpers with Weaves. Aiden started the course by knocking the first jump. Aiden’s fault!! He later knocked another bar however he was very enthusiastic and did a great job with the weaves.
I found someone to video this run as the rain had stopped!
The last class was Open Standard. Aiden got a refusal at the weaves for a 5 point fault. Luckily he just got a TOE on the yellow contact zone of the A-Frame so there was no fault. He qualified with a score of 95 and 1st place for his third leg and Open Agility Preferred (OAP) Title.
