She was definitely interested in the ‘bunnies”, much more than the 1st day. With her diligent pursuit of squirrels I thought she would leave me in the dust, but it appears she still is not ready to leave the Momma totally behind. We met Mary Anne and her aussie Zoe from Michigan. They were very nice and I enjoyed spending the weekend visiting with them. Zoe won 6 new legs on her coursing titles-yeah!!! They will be at the UKC Premier and I told them to be on the lookout for team Alta-Tollhaus and that Ziva’s sister would be there lure coursing as well! In contemplating why Ziva kept returning to me, Mary Anne offered that when I send & encourage her I say “GO” and she was told not to use that because it sounds so much like “NO”. I wonder now if that is why she came back to me on this run. I’ll remember that for next time 🙂
That’s great! Pieka and I tried lure coursing…..once. She looked at me and very clearly said “Pray tell, why would I chase a poop bag?!” and trotted off to go visiting. It was pretty funny, considering that she has crazy high prey drive in general. I asked if they could attach a cat to the thingie….they did not seem amused. (It was a JOKE).
If those had been jolly balls attached, she would have chased them and dragged me around the course! Did Pieka get all revved up to chase and then quit?
She got all revved up watching the other dogs chase it. When she realized that the game did not involved running other dogs to the ground (and probably doing horrific things to them) she lost interest rather quickly. I feel the same way – give me a tennis ball, a jolly ball, shoot….a plastic frisbee would do. She will definitely chase things. Just not poop bags, apparently.
some people have no sense of humor!
Good job! Looks like fun.
Z-Evil one is apparently Z-Momma’s Girl!
Z-Evil One is just holding out for the Jolly Ball to be on the rope, she knows that Z-Momma will get her one:-)
I guess Z-Evil One and Ember aren’t cut out for lure coursing. Oh well.
