Today the Cape Cod Kennel Club held a “Meet the Breed” and Agility Demonstration at the Barnstable County Fair.
Ivan is so gentle with children
Ivan has had only a few agility lessons but was in the agility demo to show the crowd a “novice” dog (he does not do the weaves yet). He was focused and completed the course with no faults, he exceeded my expectations!
Dylan showed the crowd an “excellent” dog. It was very warm and he was more than his usual “slow but steady” self but had a great round.
Ivan got to meet someone bigger than him… They were both very interested in each other and both very gentle. I missed the shot but the cow licked Ivan’s nose!
After all our hard work, please get us a cool snack
It was a fun day
Ivan & Dylan are such great dogs and you & Jack are absolutely wonderful dog parents! These are awesome photos—I love every one of them.
Thanks Carole. It is a pleasure to take our “boys” out with us. They draw a crowd wherever they go!
I have NO DOUBT about that! Even if you were not a dog lover how could you not admire the beauty of those two boys.
wow I have never seen such a clean cow. I can’t believe Ivan let the cow lick him!
Great photos Lynda!
They clean the cows up at fair time, they have special areas were they wash them…being an old 4-h’er I know about that stuff. That is a beautiful cow.
Are you saying you are old Julie…???
We saw some really nice cows and other livestock.
Some days I feel very old….but I am fighting it!
I really wish I had caught the shot with the cow licking his nose. It would have been super. Ivan was so calm about it!
I am so impressed with Ivan and the cow! Nuke and I were surprised by a couple of horses the other week while hiking and I realized really quickly we need to do some horse desensitization. I have a friend with horses who has invited us out to do just that, I just need to make the time to go.
I know of many people that go horseback riding with their Alta-Tollhaus dogs. That would be something I would really enjoy. Also the people that take their dogs swimming and they go swimming with them. Great way to exercise. Tiffany takes her dogs swimming quite often she paddles a boat and the dogs swim along. Erin with her Universal Sieger dog, Zambo, swim together.
What a super day! I bet you are wiped out? That is a lot to do: demo’s and meet-and-greet the public, answer all the questions, and listen to all the stories how they had a dog that looked just like your dog and weighed 150 pounds.
“Ivan has had only a few agility lessons” seriously? From the pictures he looks like he is rocking it!
Congratulations Jack and Lynda for your good work.
Julie you are so right about the people with all their stories!!
I was amazed at how well Ivan did in the agility demo. He focused on me and did not worry about everything else going on around him. No kidding about the lessons…I had him in a puppy agility class when he was a younger and then started consentrating on obedience. He just started an agility course and had one lesson last Tuesday night!
Lynda, I can’t believe that Ivan was so calm around a cow on his first meeting of one! That is just amazing.
Hi Jil,
He really was very good with the cow!
Ivan would really like to see some pictures of his sisters…..hint, hint, hint!!!
I LOVE these dogs!!! You guys have done such an amazing job and are such an inspiration. I can’t get over how calm and inquisitive Ivan is for the first time meeting a cow. Very nice cow, btw. The lick had to be soooo cute. Fun Day!!! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.
That’s awesome! Ivan is looking awesome! 🙂
Amazing pics. Dylan’s expression in the last pic is too cute. The adventures of Ivan and Dylan make me feel like I am on the slow bus w/my girl! This did give me a socialization idea–I can take Libby to our local shelter and walk the ‘Barnyard” path. They have a nice trail throughout the farm for dog walking w/the benefit of being exposed to the sheep, goats, horses, cows, pigs, etc. that have been turned in waiting to find new homes.
