A guest photographer, The Kidlet, photographed Via (O-Litter) getting an ultrasound. I think it was a great job for a 9 year old kid and a 9 month old puppy.

The Kidlet would be delighted to take photos anywhere as long as there are dogs in the photos.
Ultrasound works by delivering sound waves deep in to the tissue at a frequency above the range of human hearing, providing a “micro-massage” to speed healing and reduce pain.
I haven’t “seen” any signs of pain. Via is still quite active. Today we used one of our 15 minute “walks” to do a little SAR stuff in the long grass with the Kidlet.

is she pretty good about laying down for that long with a stranger??
Via is social with most people. We play a lot of handling games. She doesn’t appreciate other people besides me restraining her but puts up with it.
She has had her “treatment” given by two different people. Neither was a big deal for her. Besides, I was feeling her freeze dried chicken liver crumbs and she had not yet had breakfast.
For awhile Via was “worried” a bit about smokers but that was a hole in her socialization because I don’t know any. I fixed it by hanging out in smoking areas so that smokers, some holding cigarettes, could greet her.
The Kidlet did very good! Can we hire her to help out at NASS? So the ultrasound helps repair the injured tissue?
