As we don’t have many agility trials within easy travel distance, when there is one we go. This weekend we were back in RI for two more days of trials. We won’t bore you with all the details and pictures again but Dylan did very well. He qualified 5 out of 6 times earning a Double Q and his Excellent FAST Preferred Title. (He got his title in 3 consecutive runs! Good boy Dylan)

During down time at this location there is a nice area to walk the dogs. Before leaving to return home Ivan had a close encounter of the swan kind.
This swan lives in the pond and chases everything else away except for a white duck that it seems to like.
No animals were hurt in the production of this post.
Good boy, Ivan! (I’m afraid that, had this been Isa, we might’ve been having swan for supper!)
Swan dinner ala King Henry.
Lynda, you could NEVER bore us with brags or photos! We should all have your focus and ambition.
I agree with Jil. Ivan is a very good boy!
Beautiful photos.
when you made the comment about “no animals were hurt in this production”, I thought it was going to be a video of Ivan brawling with the swan. I was going to put my money on Ivan!!
You might want to put your money on the swan! LOL.
Please share all the details Lynda. If people are not interested they don’t have to read it, but many of us want to hear every detail.
Thanks Julie. I just posted Dylan’s agility results and pictures.
What great photos! I love it. Ivan is so good!! I would have to get Odin out of the water if he saw that swan.
Good boy Dylan!
can we have some new Odin photos?
This is one macho swan, very impressive. Allie is very curious about other “creatures” not in a malicious way just really curious. It has gotten her into some trouble a few times including getting bit on the nose by a snake …she still has no fear of them and still thinks they are very fascinating.
I am often near swans while paddling, and they tend to be aggressive, ornery animals, who try to intimidate you with hissing and false charges. While they are beautiful, their demeanor doesn’t match their looks. Ivan did a good job keeping calm. I’m not sure my boys would have been as good.
Beautiful shots. Good grief, I can’t get over how composed Ivan is just around the water let alone with the big swan right there… Good boy, Ivan!
Garth you are totally correct. They will lead a dog out into deep water and try to drown them, like geese will.
Ivan is such a good dog! Lynda and Jack do a great job with he and Dylan.
I remember in college as I walked to class swans lived on a pond on the route to school and they were nasty! Chase you away… I always walked on the other side of the road! Ivan looks so cute and curious!
Yes swans can be VERY aggessive. This one rules the pond and came right over to keep the dogs outof “its pond”. Ivan was curious and would have loved to go into the water to see the swan but we stopped him from doing that. Good job he listens well to us!
We saw two Canada Geese land in the pond and the swan chased them right out.
I’m with Julie, Lynda. I can’t get enough photographs and details of your boys. They are my ‘super heroes’ and I can only dream of having the dedication you have to train and compete the way you do.
I love the photographs of Ivan (I always do) and the swan. We have a couple of swans on our little lake behind our house. They come back each spring and usually give birth to about 6 or 7 signets. Their attitude towards us changes as the signets grow. When they are tiny, they parade them by us so proud of their brood, as if with no fear at all. Then as they mature, they become extremely protective, posturing and hissing as if to show the young ones that by hissing, humans will back off. Then when the young leave, the swans return to their relatively friendly selves.
Stunning! Your Ivan is so well behaved.
