Not far from where we live is a Town owned conservation area called Thompson’s Field. There are about 100 acres of fields and trails. Dogs are not required to be on leash in Harwich as long as they are under the direct control of their owner. It’s a great place for dogs to socialize.
Chalk another one up for Harwich! Looks like they are all having fun.
They sure were! Ivan and Dylan LOVE going there to see their “friends”.
Looks like great fun! Thank you for sharing. Your dogs are very well behaved.
They are pretty well behaved…most of the time. Sometimes Dylan forgets he has a Utility Dog Title and does not know what the word “come” means when he is sniffing something very interesting …or he just pretends to not hear me!!LOL
Lynda, I didn’t know you owned so many dogs! Do they all have titles like Ivan & Dylan? 🙂
You really live in a great dog area! I like how there are so many smiling faces.
We do have quite a pack don’t we! I’m working on getting them all titled…it will take years!
So jealous this looks like so much fun. Overall I do not feel like my city is a dog-friendly city at all. It seems like where you live it’s a bit different!
Hi Becky,
It is a lot of fun to see all the dogs running and playing together. People make sure their dogs are well socialized and very rarely is there ever a problem with so many dogs being loose at one time. There is plenty of space and lots of trails for people who don’t want their dogs to play in a large group.
Overall we don’t find Massachusetts to be very dog friendly but we are lucky that Harwich is. I have been to Maine with the dogs several times and find that to be a very dog friendly state.
You confirmed what I thought from seeing the photographs, that the dogs are all well socialized. I can’t imagine you ever putting Dylan nor Ivan into an unsafe situation.
We have a very small dog park near us, but I have very little confidence in the people who take their dogs there. I have driven passed many times and they all just seem to stand around chatting and nobody seems to pay attention to what the dogs are up to at all. Maybe I am a little biased against it as the silly woman whose dogs attacked Niro last year when we were walking around our neighborhood, takes her dogs there.
