Nuke’s flight was supposed to arrive at 1:31pm. It was six minutes late. 🙂 But then we learned they unload poor lonely little puppies last. So it was 2:10 before we saw him. He was soooo happy to get out of that crate!
He was very yippy for about a minute after coming out of the cage, but then settled right down and was happy to eat treats, get snuggles, and wander around exploring. He does NOT like his collar or leash but he’s getting used to it.
Nothing much seems to phase him. He explored the inside of the house, then the back yard. We all plopped down in the kitchen and hand-fed him diced chicken, which he adored. 🙂 He likes chasing the tug better than chasing the ball, but mostly seems to just like bouncing around smelling stuff. Now he’s zonked out for a nap. It didn’t take much to get him to settle down in his new giant crate – just a few treats and his own tiredness did it.
My husband made me open our soft drinks in the kitchen to avoid disturbing said puppy nap. I get fussed at if i make any noise louder than typing on the keyboard. LOL.
Congratulations on your new boy! Nuke looks like he’s been with you since day one. Keep us posted on his progress.
Oh he looks so tired in that first picture, but happy to finally be home. You can see the intelligence in the bottom pix.
And as soon as he is rested, nothing in your house will be safe from the inquisition. The wheels are turning, as we can see clearly in that last photo. Have fun!
Have fun with your new pup. I loved the comment about not being able to make a noise while the “baby” is napping!!
