From Jean and Del:
In the year 2001 Del and I had the good fortune to meet Julie and Tiffany and their wonderful German Shepherd Dogs.  Our good fortune continued when we took home a black fur ball that Tiffany had named “Happy” and indeed he always was.  We named him Draco (for the constellation).  Draco was a very active loving member of our family.  Through his lifetime he patrolled our yard keeping out raccoons, ‘possums, snakes and other unwanted beings.  Draco was a wonderful playmate and care giver with our grandchildren, playing soccer (great kicker), baseball (the best outfielder we ever had) and any other game they could dream up!  On vacation in South Dakota Draco refused to allow our granddaughter to walk in an area one evening, later we found out that rattlesnakes resided there.  Draco was a great companion to our horses.  As you can tell, he was always with us.  Our veterinarian had marked his chart “good dog”… and he was.

One of Draco’s best friends was a large orange cat that our granddaughter had named Mozart, better known as “Mo”.  Towards the end of Draco’s time with us here on Earth, his eyesight started failing.  Draco continued doing his daily duties with some modifications.  When walking to the barn, he would push his body up next to our leg and away we would go.  Sometimes you would see Mo and Draco out in the yard walking together, Mo would hold his bright orange tail up high, Draco would put his nose on Mo’s tail and they would go for a stroll.

So now our adventure with German Shepherd Dogs begin again.  I have faith that you know us and your dogs well enough to lead us to each other. Draco with our grandson:

Another Beautiful Dog who kicked balls! Was he also a goalie? Clearly he enjoyed his life with you to the fullest. And your readiness to share your life with a new pup is the greatest possible tribute to Draco.
