On Friday evening we took Ivan to his basic obedience class. After class we headed to Rhode Island as Dylan, our Labrador Retriever, was entered in the Scottish Terrier Club of New England AKC agility trial. We took Ivan for the socialization and experience. We stayed at a motel for two nights. It was Ivan’s first time staying at a motel. He was very relaxed and didn’t even get the TP all over the room…although in good Alta-Tollhaus tradition he tried to!
Dylan was entered in EX B Standard Agility and Ex B Jumpers with Weaves both days. On Saturday Dylan had qualifying runs in both earning his first ever Double Q! On Sunday he had clean runs in both but was over time in Jumpers by one second and ended up with one Q for the day. We were very pleased.
Ivan got to experience the hustle and bustle of an agility trial with people and dogs coming and going from all directions. He took everything in stride. Several people made comment about how handsome, and big, he is.
Who is supposed to be in the crate…??
Maybe I can stay here tonight if Dylan stays in my crate…

A beautiful New England day.
For those of you that may be interested in seeing Dylan (a Labrador Retriever not a GSD!!) here are links to his four runs this weekend.

Way to do it, Dylan and Lynda! I watched your videos–what a great team. (Such a nice change after 8 weeks of 5 Lab puppies in puppy class–they have sooooo much energy! Dylan channels his Energizer Bunny Lab energy fantastically! 🙂 Hi, big, handsome Ivan! Looks as though you were having a wonderful time on your road trip.
WooooWoooo on the double Q!!!! Fabtastic (my new word)!
I think that Ivan did not TP the room befause he has a better owner then other A-T puppies!?!? I am including myself in there.
What a great report on Ivan’s first roadtrip and agility trial! You can not ask for better then that. He is a big boy. Just so you do not panic, Allie kids get their size early on. Even Allie as a puppy I thought would be huge, but after she finished growing she ended up as a true medium size female.
I am on a road trip right now, so I will view the videos when I get home. Thank you Lynda for keeping the blog interesting!
Congratulations Dylan!!!! I really enjoyed watching the videos!! 🙂 Thanks for posting them!!
Hi Lynda,
Just had a chance to watch the videos…all very, very nice. I am really most impressed with your handling. Excellent work!!!
Congratulations again!!!
