Hello from Mississippi! I decided it was time for a quick road trip and decided to join friends at the Heart of the South Schutzhund inaugural show. The HOSS club has wonderful members and like to call themselves the Red Neck club. The President of the club is called the “Head Red.” I think I know a Red Neck when I see one and these members are not “true” Red Necks. The “Reds” do like to have fun and fun is what we all had. Thank you Reds for a fun and relaxing weekend!
I only have time for a few quick pictures as I need to get sleep so I am fresh for the long drive back to Michigan.
Allie at her first show, exactly 9 weeks after having her Gorbi litter. I really didn’t know what to expect as we didn’t practice. Emily handled Allie marvelously and mission accomplished, Allie earned an SG rating! Allie ROCKS!
Annie (Funny – Jimmy) with handler Dejan. Annie looked great, her handler was a little green.
The dynamo Annie was VP1!

Hey Julie and Carole! Congrats to Annie and Happy 9 Month Birthday. Allie, all I can say is, WOW. Kayla looks great and Rudi say’s “go girl”.
We’ve attended 2 conformation classes and Rudi is doing fine, his human needs work. Show lead on order, just need to purchase correct show collars. Okay, I’ve a green (as in NO IDEA what I’m doing) question. The conformation collars are different for WDA and AKC, right? I said I was green…
Agility is fun and Rudi LOVES tunnels. I’ve fallen on my butt twice, so now we have Yikes, my butt’s on fire, aka Rudi, living with Yikes, on my butt again. 😉 Safe travels. Julie H
Hey Yikes, On My Butt Again! (That name is too long!) Yep different collar in the Germs than AKC. Shall I order for you?
Kayla needs your mailing address. She has a present for Mr. Rudi!
Yay Allie, Annie, and Kayla! All three dogs look gorgeous. Julie you are like the busiest woman I know!
The gals look great – hard to believe Allie just had babies and Annie, wow, she has really grown up – wasn’t she the REALLY feisty one?
Carole, As always, Kayla looks terrific – did you recently post that she just turned one year old? She is maturing into a beautiful young lady! I’m so glad Julie got to see her – was it a glorious reunion?
The Red Necks sound like a fun and colorful group!
Thank you Kimberly. The Red-Necks are fun. The only think they have in common with Red Necks is they are from Mississippi and so are a few real Red-Necks. Yep Allie was the Feisty one. I got a tip from Yvonne from Holland to rub spirit of camphor oil on her breast to make them go up. Nick had some at his drug store and we were in business. The camphor oil seemed a little astringent so I rubbed on vitamin E cream after the camphor oil. Allie always stayed well-muscled and firm, so getting her physically in shape was not an issue.
Fun! Had I known you were going I probably would have been really tempted…. Allie looks great!
I am sorry about that. I had room and would have enjoyed the company. Originally I was going to drive to KY and ride with Jeff and caravan with the rest of his club members. The weather forecast was predicting rain. If I rode with Jeff then we would have had to pull crates in and out of the van to have access to the other crates and in rainy weather that would have been…unpleasant. So it was a last minute decision to drive all the way by myself and didn’t think of asking anyone else. It would have been a really good experience for Nikon, Bailey, and Billie or Schumi. I brought the C puppies and Onion and the experience of a road trip was good for all of them. Onion wasn’t entered either she came along at the last minute.
Carole’s version of the HOSS aka Redneck show:
The Rednecks are a great group of fun-loving people! Southern hospitality at its best.
Now to the important stuff:
Annie is awesome! I’ve seen her as a tiny pup, then at NASS and again this weekend. I am still a huge Annie fan. She’ll just keep getting better and better.
Allie was fantastic! You would have not known that this was her first show. Julie has not lost her doubling handling skills! Way to go Allie & Julie! I hope that Julie shows her more often.
Kayla just turned one year on Thursday. She did a great job in the 12-18 class, just being two days into that age group. She worked well for Emily and doubled for Julie & me (thanks Julie!). Now it’s SG Kayla!
Great job Emily & Kayla!
Wow only two days into that class, tough! Nice work.
I was very proud of Kayla. At NASS she was having a hard time focusing on the task. Now she is a little older and her brains are returning.
All of us are expecting big things from Annie. The combination is perfect, showy dog with lots of attitude and owners that are seasoned pros at schutzhund and showing.
Allie, well, she is my girlie and I love her like crazy.
Hi Julie and Carole,
Well done with your dogs at the show. They look great. Hope to see you all soon
Greatings from Holland
Yvonne
Hi Yvonne,
Good to see you here! Thanks for the compliments. Yep, our girls did great this weekend.
We’ll keep in touch…
Thanks Yvonne! Your tip on the spirit of camphor oil worked. Thank you!
Yes it is an old recipe but it helps
So I can start a online service of tips
Just kidding
Allie looks amazing – what an awesome girl! Kayla is growing up and is the ever beautiful girl, with a love of water :~) Annie – the perfect combination in just the “right” home! Win, win, win!!! Go Alta Tollhaus!!!
