I’m a little late in posting this but with work, dog training and family commitments there never seems to be enough time to sit at the computer and post.
Alta-Tollhaus Aiden was entered in the Pioneer Valley Kennel Club Agility Trial on Saturday September 15th and Sunday Sept. 16th at the Westfield Fairgrounds. We took some time off work and met Mario on Thursday the 13th for IPO training. Both Aiden and his son, Alta-Tollhaus O’Connor (Connor) had a great time and did well. After training we drove out to Springfield, MA.
On Friday we took the dogs for a nice walk in the Chicopee State Park.
At this State Park there is also a beach area. The boys were very disappointed when they read this sign.
But at least they had a dog sized water fountain
Saturday morning was very foggy and the ground was soaking wet.
Aiden’s first class was Masters Std Preferred. He qualified in 1st place and earned 28 PACH points.
Before his next run the sun came out and the temperature skyrocketed. In Premier JWW Preferred Aiden had a good run but took one off course jump. In between runs and helping course build we took the boys for walks and a splash in the kiddie pool.
In Masters JWW Preferred Aiden pulled off another clean run and qualified in 1st place, earned 21 PACH points AND a Double Q !!
The last class of the day was Masters FAST Preferred and it was a “train wreck” with Aiden knocking several jumps. He got the Send Bonus but only 59 points due to the knocked jumps! A minimum of 60 is necessary to qualify.
Sunday the day started out very foggy and wet again but by the afternoon the sun was shining and the temperature was close to 90 degrees, very hot for the dogs and the poor judge!
Aiden’s first class was Time to Beat Preferred. This run required lots of shouts and “saves” and was a lot of fun…somehow Aiden and I managed to get a clean run and 1st place.
Next up was Masters JWW Preferred. Aiden had a clean run and placed 1st and earned 23 PACH points.
Between runs I took O’Connor for a walk around the fairgrounds.
“Look Mummy, free tennis balls. Can I have one…PLEEEASE????”
Later in the day, despite the heat and the tough course, Aiden had a clean run in Masters Standard Preferred and qualified in 1st place for 22 PACH points AND another Double Q.
Despite the challenges of an outdoor trial Aiden qualified in 5 of his 7 classes, all with 1st place.
Congratulations on all those first-place wins! The new venue looks awesome, great for nasty weather!
