Wednesdays are the only day Jack and I have off together in the summertime. Instead of mowing the lawn and doing household chores, as we normally do, we decided to play tourist for a day. It was such a beautiful day that we packed up the car along with Aiden and headed to Long Point in Provincetown. (It was going to be a too hot and too long a day for Dylan so he stayed home and my mother took care of him.) For those of you who don’t know, Provincetown is the last town on Cape Cod and Long Point is the outermost tip of the Cape. The blue dot on the map is where we live and the red dot is Long Point.
There are only two ways to get to Long Point. One way is a three mile hike which is only accessible at low tide. The other way is a 10 minute ferry ride. We decided to take the ferry.
The ferry pulls right up onto the beach. Aiden was so excited that he practically leaped off the ferry to get into the water. We walked around Long Point and visited the lighthouse. Aiden had a great time swimming and chasing his kong.
Provincetown is well known for being very dog friendly. Outside of most of the shops is a dog bowl with fresh water and dogs are allowed in most places. We stopped at the Governor Bradford Restaurant for lunch and Aiden was also welcome, in fact the waiter brought him his own bowl of water with ice cubes!
We had a great day and Aiden slept all the way home.
