Today Aiden was entered in the Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club Agility Trial in Westborough, MA. Mother Nature decided to play an April Fool’s Day joke on us and even though it’s Spring the forecast was for a Winter storm with 8″ of snow from Friday into Saturday. We decided to take vacation time off work and drive up to Westborough, which is about 2 hours away from us, on Friday. When we left Cape Cod it was raining and when we got closer to Westborough it had changed to a wintery mix. We stopped at the Hopkinton State Park and took Aiden for a walk.
This morning we awoke to more of a sleet storm than a snow storm.
Aiden’s first class of the day was Masters FAST. He had a good run, got the send bonus and scored 73 points. In FAST if a bar is knocked down you can still qualify but you do not get the points for that jump. He qualified with 2nd place for his 10th Leg and his Masters FAST Title (MXF).
In Masters Standard Aiden decided to play an April Fool’s joke on me. He made up his own course, knocked a few jumps and had a grand olde time for himself! Obviously he did not qualify. The course was a difficult one and no dogs in the 24″ class qualified.
After Standard it was still snowing but my friend and I decided to take Aiden and Yasha for a walk in the snow.
The last class of the day was Masters Jumpers with Weaves and again it was a tricky course. Aiden had a good run and was the only dog in the 24″ class to qualify. Obviously he came in 1st place and he earned 13 more MACH points.
