Wednesday December 28th was our wedding anniversary. We, along with Aiden, drove up to Manchester, NH and checked into the Radisson Hotel. This was a treat for us as we normally stay at the Red Roof Inn or Motel 6!
There is always an agility trial in NH at this time of year and we have made it a tradition to enter the trial and combine it with celebrating our anniversary. Only crazy dog people will understand!
In the evening we took Aiden for a walk around the city and then had dinner at the hotel restaurant.
On Thursday it started to snow. In the afternoon we went to Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, NH. We had a great walk on the trails and Aiden loved the snow. We haven’t had any snow on the Cape so far this winter and Aiden was so excited to see it.
After our walk we went to dinner at the Longhorn Restaurant. When we came out we found it had snowed quite a bit more.
While Jack cleared off the car Aiden enjoyed some leftover Filet Mignon.
On Friday it was clear and cold and we headed to the Bearded Collie Club of America Agility Trial. Friday’s trial was for Excellent and Masters dogs only.
Aiden’s first class of the day was Premier JWW. Aiden had a super run on a hard course but missed the entry to the weave poles which was tough for large, fast dogs.
In Masters JWW Aiden had another good run but knocked the double jump.
In Premier Standard Agility Aiden got through all the tough parts of the course but one bar came down AGAIN!
Finally, in Masters Standard Agility Aiden qualified with 4th place earning 19 MACH points and his 8th MX leg.
The last class of the day was Masters FAST. Aiden got the bonus and a total of 65 points qualifying with 2nd place for his 9th MXF leg.
In-between classes Aiden got to run and play in the snow.
Saturday we returned for our second day at the agility trial. It was not a great day for me and Mr. A.
In Masters JWW after completing the weaves I was out of position and stumbled slightly causing Aiden to get ahead of me and take the wrong jump. We did not complete the course.
In Masters Standard Agility Aiden nearly had an off course going towards the weaves but I “saved it” by calling him off and he took the correct obstacle (the seesaw). Next was into the tunnel, when he came out and I instructed him to take the table he went between me and the table so was faulted. Coming off of the table he fell. I had no idea this happened until I saw the video after his run. If I had known that he had fallen I would have stopped right away. I think it may have rattled him a bit and after the tire he did not go out to the next jump. When I settled him down he completed the course without any more faults. We checked him over and he did not get injured.
Again today we made sure that Aiden got plenty of play time in the snow between runs.
After the trial we drove back home to Harwich. The snow storm had missed Cape Cod which pleased us…. Aiden not so much!

I always love seeing Aiden. Thank you for the photos and the videos.
Happy anniversary! Sounds like a great way to spend an anniversary to me!
Wow, what an anniversary trip! Glad you picked up some MACH points. Glad Aiden likes to snow, because I must admit, I don’t think much of it.
Gorgeous photos! Happy New Year to you and Jack also!
