Since June I have had two surgeries and have not been able to train or compete with Aiden. Last Monday I was finally able to take him to agility class.
Today Aiden was entered in the Eastern English Springer Spaniel Agility Trial at the Wide World of Indoor Sports facility in No. Smithfield, RI. He was so happy to be there.
His first run of the day was Premiere Standard. This is an optional titling class designed to challenge dogs and handlers at an increased speed and skill level above those set for the Master level classes. Handlers/dogs will need to negotiate courses that require varied approach angles, spacing, and obstacle discriminations to be successful in these classes. Aiden had a super, enthusiastic run but unfortunately knocked one bar.
His next run was in Time to Beat. He was OVER enthusiastic and it was a train wreck!
Next up was Masters Standard Agility. Aiden was very patient with me as I cannot run as fast as normal, although, he was certainly “yelling” at me to hurry up. He had a clean run and qualified, earning his 5th Masters Std Leg.
Our last class of the day was Excellent Jumpers with Weaves. Aiden needs one leg to earn his Excellent JWW Title. Today was not the day! He had an off course jump.
Cape Cod is under a Tropical Storm Warning as Hermine passes. We left RI in sunshine and the weather deteriorated the closer we got to home. Traditionally Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer and traffic leaving the Cape is always heavy. The storm compounded the situation. Luckily we were travelling in the opposite direction.
Jack, Aiden and I had a great day and it was nice to begin to take steps towards getting life back to normal.

Great job to you and Mr. Barkey!
Great Job-I think he has been hanging around to many border collies-LOL. Good to see you back 🙂
Super to see you both back in action. I think he did so well especially as he hasn’t been able to do much practicing lately! Well done.
I’m glad you’re back in action. I have missed your posts and seeing Aiden in action.
Great to see Team Aiden back!
Yeah Lynda!!! Great job! I love the story and seeing you two back in action. That Aiden just gets more and more handsome!
