This weekend Aiden was entered in the Teamwork Agility Club of Central Massachusetts agility trial in Westborough, MA. We drove up to Westborough on Friday afternoon and checked into the Red Roof Inn.
On Saturday morning we were at the trial when the doors opened at 7:00 am to set up Aiden’s crate.
Aiden with his girlfriend Yasha and Ellie, the Labrador Retriever.
Yesterday Masters FAST was the first class of the day. The trial was running from large to small dogs and Aiden was the first dog to run. He had a good run, got the Send Bonus and accumulated 77 points out of a total of 80 points. He qualified with 2nd place. The 1st place dog had 78 points. This is Aiden’s 5th Masters FAST Leg.
The next run was Masters Standard agility. He did not qualify as he had an off course when he started into the weaves poles before I could call him off to the correct obstacle. He also knocked a jump.
There was then a long gap before Open Jumpers with Weaves so we took Aiden for a nice walk.
At 5:00pm we finally got to run in Open JWW. Aiden knocked two jumps. He just needs one leg to title in Open JWW but something always seems to go wrong!
Today we were back at the trial at 7:00am. The first class was Time to Beat. Aiden back jumped a jump for an off course and did not qualify.
In Masters Standard Aiden was barking his way around the course and was over excited. He knocked a jump and went in a tunnel he should not have for an off course! Another NQ.
We again had a several hour wait before Open JWW which started after 5:00pm. Well……Aiden DID it!!! He had a great, clean run and qualified with a score of 100 and 1st place for his 3rd Leg and Open Agility Jumpers Title. The course time was 40 seconds and Aiden did it in 28.61 seconds. Many people at the trial knew how close he has come to qualifying for this title in the past. He got quite the cheer from everyone watching, including from the judge.
