On Friday Jack and I, along with Aiden, headed up to New Hampshire for an agility trial. On our way we stopped at the Harold Parker State Forest in North Andover, MA and had a lovely walk.
Aiden was very happy to see the snow as we had not had any significant snow on the Cape so far this winter
On Saturday Aiden was entered in the American Bullmastiff Agility Trial in Amherst, NH. This was his first trial since November.
In Masters FAST Aiden qualified with 75 points and 1st place
Aiden did not qualify in Masters Standard as he went off course. He was wild but was having a blast!
Aiden was a LITTLE calmer by the end of the day. The last class was Open Jumpers with Weaves. Unfortunately his left shoulder hit a jump stantion causing the jump to fall but he otherwise had a good run. …..we still need one leg for the Open JWW Title!

At the motel Jack shared his KFC chicken tenders with Aiden
While we were in NH the Cape was hit with winter storm Jonas which dropped about 8 inches of snow. This made Aiden very happy when we got home.
Dylan stays with my Mum when we take Aiden to these agility trials now that he is nearly 11 years old.
The “brothers” were excited to see each other and play together.
The Boys
Not everyone gets to play in the snow…..
Those runs were amazing! I just love Aiden’s enthusiasm – that tail is wagging all over the place – he was born to do agility!
What is that crazy collar he’s wearing? Looks like something a cat would wear, with that little bell on it, and bright orange see-it-a-mile-away color!
We’re leaving Florida this week, and hoping to enjoy some fun in the snow with Dutch soon. That last storm dumped it all south of us 🙁
Hi Beverly,
Aiden sure does love agility!
You mean Aiden’s orange circus ruffle collar??? LOL.
During hunting season our dogs always wear orange and have bells on. If you look at the picture with me in it you will see that I am holding my orange hat. It is not dear hunting season in Massachusetts at this time, but there is hunting for other types of animals, and whenever we go hiking in new places we want to make sure we and the dogs are seen. Better to be safe than sorry.
Have a safe trip home.
Wow! Aiden is crazy! in a good way, though. He sure does love agility. It’s so much fun to run a dog that loves it. Congrats on the FAST Q.
Thanks Jennifer.
Aiden sure is “crazy”! He really loves agility as you can see in the videos! I have never had a dog so enthusiastic about it and it sure is fun training him and running in trials with him.
I love Aiden!!! Steve and I want to take a vacation and follow you guys around for a week 😉
And I really appreciate all these videos… Especially going back to him as a beginner. So fun to watch!
Good boy Aiden
Great weekend-it is nice of Aiden to share his chicken tenders with Dad. I think the dogs really do like staying at the hotels. I think you have had more snow than us this year. I am not missing it a bit. I love watching Aiden run. So glad you post the videos so we can see what it is like.
Did he not Q because he stuck his head in the tunnel even though he did not go thru?
Lisa,
Aiden actually had two off courses. The first was the jump before the table. He was supposed to go straight to the table but, as many dogs did, he turned and went over the jump to the right first. That caused him to not qualify.
The tunnel was also an off course. I did not signal him soon enough and he put his head and paw in the tunnel which is actually an off course also, even though he came back out when I a called him. You can hear the crowd laughing as most dogs who had that off course went charging through the tunnel and they cheered that Aiden stopped when I called him!
Congratulations on your Masters FAST!
You guys need to enter the GSDCA National this year.
