Patience Aunt Terri!!!! We still need to finish the last leg on her CD. I have her entered in a show this weekend on 1 day, if I can walk in shoes, since I stepped in a chuck hole while tracking and twisted my toes! I have been working on going out of sight at home and recently started out of sight for 1-2 minutes with a group then reappearing for the rest of the time. So far so good. I started right off the bat working to 3 min sits and 5 min downs, so she is used to the time. Jumping practice was put on hold because of her ilio strain & I am not doing more than 12″ high and 24″ over.
Apparently, I’m a tad late…
Good job!
From our conversation, I think you have a good game plan. No rush!
For sits & downs, work up to increasing your length of time up to a minute longer so that you are doing 4-min sits and 6-min downs. That way come trial time, she is not looking at her watch and saying that all she needs to do is 3 minutes and according to her watch – time is up. Or as Gustavo would say, “train hard, trial easy!”
Good girl Ziva.
Lisa,
When are you going for your CDX?
How are her “out of sights”?
She has a nice deep hold..good job with training!
Terri
