This is Ziva working the TDX start line. She needs to decide which way from the post the tracklayer is walking. She investigated the wrong way 1st and then decided it was not what she was looking for and turned around and picked up the track in the correct direction. Her article indications have greatly improved. She loves to track so much that she would barely indicate them. In the TDX there are 2 articles on the track as well as the end article and if we miss one it is a fail.
Lisa……..WOW! 🙂 Nice tracking. She is fast, with a consistent deep nose. How often are you putting down food on her tracks? And, are you laying her tracks?
For the TDX, does the handler or someone else lay them? And, what are your articles….do they have to be something specific?
Terri
I lay some, my husband some and other folks sometimes. For AKC someone else always lays the track. I am not sure how she would do in IPO since she does airscent on a difficult track and does not follow each footstep. She gets lots of rewards on something new or motivational. Otherwise I mix it up so she never knows. Sometimes food at the articles, sometimes food along the track. Always a reward at the end. For TDX it is cloth and leather. For the next level, cloth, plastic, leather, metal, but I am working her with all materials now. I use bandannas, gloves, socks, canning lids, yogurt tops, old cell phone, CD’s, baby toys, key rings w/keys, you name it she finds it 🙂
Beautiful!
Great job. Nice to see Ziva in action.
