I am pleased to report that Steve (Alta Tollhaus Ulfr – of the U litter) successfully graduated his Star Puppy class and a subsequent puppy class. His third puppy class is titled PAC which I was told stands for puppy awareness class. Pretty cute huh?
He has now had two sessions. In the most recent sessions, he has learned how to “visit” with other dogs. Pictured here you will see him meeting a couple of the instructor’s small dogs. He also gets practice on new agility equipment (puppy sized) of course. He likes the low ‘dog walk’ the best. We are still working on the command “watch me” as he gets easily distracted and it can be difficult getting him to focus back on me. Steve also had the opportunity to meet a couple small children and a baby.
Steve has still been in conformation class to get ready for the Post Falls International show in August. We have only had two out of the last six classes, so I am hoping we will be ready!
I signed Steve up for an obedience class at the new Valor K9 in Spokane. He gets to start that in July. Hopefully this is the start of many good things for him! I think he would be a great agility candidate, as nothing phases him!! (well except my basement stairs… I have only got his front paws on the 2nd step 🙂
Julie K – Excellent work with Steve!
Youngsters do not have great depth perception. I can help you out with the basement stairs. Send an email to me along with a photo of what it looks like from the top of the stairway into the basement. CarsinGSD@gmail.com
Believe it or not, he has now set his butt on the top step with lots of praise! I will email you my frightening stairs into the dungeon!
Nice to see all the pictures and get your update on Steve. It’s great that you are doing the different classes with him. It’s so important with any puppy but especially a GSD.
Thank you. Aiden is Steve’s dog idol. 🙂
Steve-O, you are growing up so fast. I’m happy to hear that your Momma is introducing you to so many new things. It is SO important for you to get along with other pups….human and K-9. It is what we are supposed to do….get along. 🙂
I am so excited and happy when I see other pups….I get all silly. I sometimes send the wrong message….but really…..I’m just SOOOOO happy.
I don’t know what Star Puppy Class is. We must not have it around here. But you did good and passed it. That is great.
You are a cute and handsome fluffy boy and I know you will do well in Conformation.
Your not so secret admirer,
Alta-Tollhause Qwendilynne (Gavin/Inga)
He is definitely “stinkin’ cute!”
