The Flex does not have a lot of room inside for crates. I would look at the Ford Transit instead, they come in many different sizes and configurations.
Looking for used…I did check the Transits’. They look super.
I’ve driven a mini van for so long, I was looking for something different….but it seems they (mini vans) are such practical dog mobiles.
I did like my 2008 Dodge van (like yours)…except mine started rusting within 2 years. I didn’t like that part. But, it was a great dog mobile.

I also have been looking for the ultimate dog mobile. The Honda Odyssey has been mentioned in several of the articles that I have researched. Unfortunately, it isn’t a 4 wheel drive which is needed where I live. Also the Subaru Outback has come up many times. If anyone else has any recommendations. Please post! Thanks.

mhdogluvr,
I did end up with another mini van. For my money, they are just the most practical for me.
Besides decent gas mileage and reliability in the snow, I love the stow n go seats, and the passenger windows that come down. Power lift gate power sliders are nice too. And lots of room for crates. They have that neat little mirror that you can use to watch your kids (2 and 4 legged). I wanted a used vehicle and I got a super price on a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country with 26,000 miles!
On this one, Qwendi will be able to watch DVDs on her choice of 2 screens. I’ll put on Lassie and Rin Tin Tin movies for her. 🙂
My dream dog mobile would be a Suburban or Tahoe…….I even looked at another pick up…..but
man oh man…such poor gas mileage. Sometimes being practical is just NO fun!
See what you think about a Honda Pilot. Those look nice and boxy for crates to fit well.
Happy hunting!
Bless you for posting Fargo…..gives me others to go look at…..Congrats on ur bargain buy 2008 w/ 26k miles….you go girl! Practical may not always be the most fun……but “practical” often times is the best choice…..who knows we may have our dogs in convertibles cruising to the beach when we decide “fun” is more important than practical. LOL.
