This past weekend, I took Ember and Cabrera, and “borrowed” Ava to take to Kalamazoo to try weight pull for the first time. The club was extremely helpful and made my first time doing weight pull a lot of fun. I took Ember and Ava Friday, all three on Saturday, and Cabrera and Ava on Sunday.
Ember was not impressed and did not want to pull, although she pulled the wagon, which weighs 400lbs, once. I plan on working with her and trying again next year. I never thought Cabrera would enjoy it, so I didn’t take him the first day. I took him the second day just to see and he loved it! He pulled 730lbs the first day and 895lbs the second day for his first two qualifying legs towards his weight pull title. I will have to wait until the UKC Premier to try to finish his title since there are not many weight pull shows offered.
Ava qualified all three days, finishing her weight pull title on Saturday, and earning 5 pts towards her Champion Weight Pull title on Sunday. Overall, it was a fun weekend and I wish there were more weight pull shows that were closer. I enjoyed seeing Doug and Judy with Bella and Oakley there. Bella tried weight pull and Oakley competed in conformation.

It is super to see the pictures of all the dogs. Love the ones of the three of them together. Ava must have had a fun sleep over weekend!
Super video on Cabrera pulling, it reminds me of Gavin, as they have a similar pulling style and finished the same way with wanting to give kisses and a big hug and lots of loving. I like the first still picture of yourself as you can see how much fun you are having. I hope there is a weight pull before June!
I had so much fun! I’m hooked now. I hope there is another trial before June, too.
