My sister, Donna, and her husband, John, went up to Maine to see their son at the University of Maine. Then, after sightseeing in Maine and Acadia National Park for a day, they headed to the Cape for a quick two day visit. They arrived on Tuesday afternoon and on Tuesday evening they went with us to meet up with Mario and a few others for a little IPO obedience and protection training. In training we do not often do the whole IPO-2 obedience routine but Mario let me and Aiden do the routine for them to see, although I did stop to reward Aiden with his ball several times during the exercises. Aiden put on a great show for them in both obedience and protection!
Aiden and Dylan loved having Donna and John to stay and miss them already.
Aiden looks like me in my childhood photos …really more pictures???? Nice of Donna and John to come up and spend time in some real paradise!
Donna and John look so comfortable with Aiden and Dylan. Do they come out to visit you often? Not all of my relatives aren’t so sure they want to cozy-up with Dutch, even though he’s super-friendly. Their loss. The boys look so handsome. I love the combo of GSD/Lab.
Regarding Dylan: how old is he now? I can’t believe he has almost no gray on his muzzle! We’ve had many Labs, and they tend to turn gray earlier than most dogs.
Hi Beverly,
Unfortunately Donna and John do not get to visit too often and when they do it is only for a very short time. Donna is just like me with animals.
Dylan is 9.5 years old now. He has only very recently started to get a few gray hairs….wish I could say the same about me!!
LOL, me, too! But, my Lab “Beaumont” had a very gray muzzle AND gray paws by the time he was 9! Worse still, I had a chocolate Lab named “Brandy” who lived to be almost 15 years old. He not only had a gray muzzle, paws, and brows – he also had a very strange transformation in his entire coat. The color texture of his fur changed completely. The color changed from dark brown to a pale, almost tannish brown, and was no longer slick and smooth: he looked like a grizzly bear!
Isn’t it nice to have family that loves your animals like we do? It’s that way with my brother and sis-in-law..My animals are welcomed at their house….and vice-versa.
Too bad your sis could only have a short visit. It’s never long enough, sometimes.
Terri
This looks like a great visit. I’m so glad your family got to stop by (and give the boys some love).
