We could not believe it has been so many months since we last posted an update on our fun and feisty Bela (Schumann x Bailey). Time goes by so fast with a puppy in the house! Our lack of posts have not been out of neglect, rather we have been spending so much time with Bela that we forget to post updates. He’s doing very well. He is very smart and still very mischievous. He can be a sweet boy one minute and a devil the next. Since he’s soon to be 1 year old, he’s in a rather gangly stage (weighs around 85+ lbs.)

Gangly goes well with almost one year olds, I think. LOL
Regardless……he is a handsome pup. And he sounds like alot of fun. They keep you on your toes, don’t they?

Yes, they surely do keep us on our toes, but that’s a good thing. There’s never a dull moment. And it makes it all the sweeter when they’re mellow and cuddly. I know all too soon we’ll miss their mischievousness.

Bela was from the I-litter Schuman von Tronje x Alta-Tollhaus Bailey.
“Gangly” might not have been the best word choice…summer weight might be more accurate. He is well muscled and strong. He just looks leaner without his full coat. He is definitely not small; it will be interesting to see what his mature weight will be. He is loving the cooler temps.
Bela is a handsome young man.
Wow, he’s going to be huge! My Dutch (Gavin x Kira) will be 3 years old on Thanksgiving, and everyone thinks he’s huge at 88 pounds! Your Bela is indeed a handsome youngster, with a very happy face. He looks like he’s now relaxing after playtime, lying down with that front paw tucked under. What a beauty. Can I say that about a guy? LOL! Sometimes, I call “Dutch” by the name “Duchess,” the female GSD I had years ago. So funny – there’s nothing feminine about Dutch!
Dutch is no longer “gangly,” but he’s a very heavily muscled lean GSD with a very deep chest. He is the most powerful dog I’ve ever owned, and the most athletic. Watching him run, work, and play is a daily pleasure for all of us. Thankfully, there are many ways to exercise your dog without actually exhausting yourself, as well!
My husband continuously reminds me to call him handsome versus cute or pretty….”after all, he is a boy!” That may be, but I think he’s a beauty too, and that always works in his favor when he gets in trouble. The last time we weighed him (about 2 months ago) he weighed 85 lbs. He is a big strong boy and an incredible athlete. We are in awe of him.
Yes, he’s a happy boy and everything is an opportunity for an adventure.
