Cabrera and Ember had a fun week this past week with plenty to do. First, they went to the Silverhawks “Bark in the Park” to celebrate National Dog Day. You can bring your dogs to watch the baseball game. There was more dog watching than baseball watching.
They both met Swoop, the Silverhawks mascot. Ember thought he was a giant squeakie toy and tried to play with his hands. Cabrera wasn’t so sure of the giant stuffed chicken.
After a while, they were bored because they weren’t able to play with the ball. What’s the fun in that?
Here is Ember from last year at “Bark in the Park”, at 6 mo. old.
Next, Ember and I went to a rally fun show at Trail Creek in Laporte. We were able to complete the course as many times as we wanted to. Ember’s only good for so many runs because she gets bored, so we did a novice run twice, once on leash and once off, and a more advanced course off leash twice. She did well, although she was a little distracted. It was great practice for her since I want to start showing her in rally soon. I don’t have any pictures of her at the fun show, but have some fun pictures of her.
Lastly, we took Cabrera to the Shipshewanna flea market. It is very busy with lots of people. He was a little overwhelmed at first, but started to warm up to people after a little bit and received a lot of attention. We had a lot of compliments on how handsome he was. Many people said that he was a “real German Shepherd”. Have you seen any fake German Shepherds out there walking around? Again, no pics of him there, but some fun pics instead.
Cabrera and Ember I feel the same way about baseball….yawn…..
Yes, I agree, too – it’s not much fun if we never get to play with that ball. Ember and Cabrera, like all our Alta-Tollhaus dogs, are absolutely gorgeous German Shepherd Dogs. Compound that with their fun-loving personalities and super-smart heads, and people notice. They’ve got the whole package. Plus, they are high-performance dogs: always ahead of the competition, but you’ve got to know how to handle them. I always remember Julie’s advice regarding housebreaking: “and if he has an accident, go roll up a newspaper and hit yourself on the head with it!” That philosophy applies to nearly everything. If Dutch does make a mistake, it’s usually because I haven’t anticipated something that I should have prepared or trained him for. Go get the newspaper – I need a good whack!
Good job, Beverly!
LOL
I always enjoy your pix of the kids doing stuff.
Great pics. glad the kids had such a fun day with Mom and Dad
I’m with Cabrera…….I’d be a little cautious about that overgrown chicken too!
I think I need to move to Indiana……..you guys have fun stuff to do with your dogs. Lucky pups. 🙂
Did they get to do water stuff this time?
I took Wendi to my brothers’…and she got her first swimming lessons. She did great. She has to put in twice the effort….since all her fur weighs alot when wet. 🙂
Ember wasn’t too thrilled with the water fountain this time. The water comes out pretty forceful and she didn’t like that. She still loved water, just not like that. You look like you’re having quite a fun time with little Qwendi!
Looks like Ember and Cabrera had a fun day out. I’d be watching the dogs and not the ball game too!
