During the summer months it is very difficult for us to get any time off on the weekends. We were lucky enough to convince our respective bosses to let us have this Saturday off even though it is Labor Day Weekend. We will have to work on Sunday and Labor Day. We entered Aiden on Saturday at an agility trial held by the Eastern English Springer Spaniel Club in North Smithfield, RI despite the fact he has not had any agility training all summer. It was a good excuse for us to get off the Cape and see some agility friends even if it was just for one day.
On Friday afternoon we took Dylan and Aiden to Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln, RI. It is a beautiful place with a covered bridge entrance, walking trials and a large pond. We had a lovely walk and the boys were able to have some fun in the pond.
“Can we pleeeeease go for a swim?”
On Saturday at the agility trial Aiden was very excited to be there…maybe too excited! His first class of the day was Open FAST Preferred. Aiden was full of the beans and bouncing everywhere! As usual he got plenty of points but was unable to get the “Bonus” therefore he did not qualify.
The next class was Excellent Standard Preferred. Aiden missed the entry to the weave poles and I had to call him back to redo them. In Excellent you must get a clear round and as missing the poles is a fault Aiden did not qualify.
The last class of the day was Open Jumpers with Weaves Preferred. Aiden had a super, clean run and qualified with a score of 100 and 1st place. This was his third leg for his Open Jumpers with Weaves Title (OJP).

Wow what a beautiful run! Congratulations on another agility title! With two such handsome dogs, you must get stopped constantly on your outings?
What does “bathing” mean in the Lincoln Woods State Park sign?
Hi Julie,
Thanks. Aiden sure loves agility…and to work in general.
“Bathing” on the sign means “To go into the water for swimming or other recreation” or “the activity of swimming in a river or lake, or in the ocean” it is telling people they are allowed to swim in the State Park ponds.
This is where the term “Bathing Suit” comes from – “a piece of clothing worn for swimming”
In the midwest they would say swimming. 🙂
I know….really why just not say Swimming allowed! I had to look up those definitions on-line!
That must be a New England saying.
I likethe “swimming, or other activities.” HEHEHE!
See, you get some of us MidWesterners out there…we’ll be goin’ in nude….with a bar of soap! LOL
Aiden has accomplished so much at such an early age. You and Jack should be so proud of yourselves! Aiden and Dylan are lucky to have such a life, full of fun, rewarding work, and loving “parents!”
However, when I’m “bathing,” there is no clothing involved! LOL! I’ll have to check out the signs in the parks around here in western MA. I never really paid much attention to whether they say “bathing” or “swimming.”
Thanks Beverly.
I don’t think they would be happy to have you “bathing” in Lincoln Woods State Park – LOL!
Now I will have to look at other signs around here too. This one is in Rhode Island!
Aiden sure does have fun doing agility! Congratulations on another title!
Thanks. He LOVES it!
Beautiful run, gorgeous pictures and I love that covered bridge!

Aiden always has such a good time. Dylan looks like he loves to go and relax while Aiden works!
Lynda,
You said Aiden hadn’t worked in Agility all summer…but look what he accomplished. He took those first runs…as warm ups. Got his title and with 100 points! That is just super. What a good boy.
He has the best looking cheerleader too…huh Dylan? 🙂
