Aww! Feel better Libby!

Fenris has to wear a cone of shame too. The groomers decided to do some man-scaping on him, gave him a really bad shave job, and it managed to get infected.

Poor Fenris! I started shaving my parents dogs, a Miniature Poodle and a Cockapoo, partly to save them money, but also because we couldn’t find a groomer that wouldn’t cut them or burn them with the clippers. Hope Fenris feels better soon!

Poor Libby! Hope her eye is okay. I also hope that Z-Evil One isn’t taking advantage of the situation too much. 🙂

Z-Evil one is very concerned about her sister. Libby goes down stairs like she was shot out of a cannon, so no upstairs for 1-2 weeks to be sure she doesn’t fall w/the cone on. Z spends her time in the living room by the couch sleeping next to me and part of the night checking on Libby who is mortified that we dare to crate the queen.

Oh poor Libby. What did she have surgery for?
I hope she gets lots of Easter presents to make her feel better.

She had juvenile cataracts. They were affecting about 60+% of her field of vision. They removed the cataracts and also did lens implants. I can’t say enough about pet insurance since this was covered under her policy. She is being majorly spoiled and playing the symapathy card to the max. The tough part is keeping her quiet. Ziva knows something is up and is being very good about leaving her alone, which is amazing b/c they usually play like maniacs every day

Thanks for the reply. I hope Libby is feeling better today.
Good girl Ziva leaving your sister alone to recuperate.

How did you realize she had the cataracts? Did you notice something or was it picked up in a routine vet visit? That is great about the insurance.

Awww, poor Libby. She won’t be down for long (Ziva wouldn’t allow it!).

If you ever need to replace her cone, I recommend the Comfy Cone: http://www.amazon.com/Comfy-Cone-E-Collar-Xlarge-Black/dp/B000XY5DSM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398132906&sr=8-1&keywords=dog+comfy+cone

It’s a soft cone, and you can fold it back so it’s easier for her to eat and drink.

What pet insurance do you have? I have Healthy Paws and (knock on wood) have not had to use it for anything. I’m too scared to get rid of it though for exactly the reason you described with Libby.

We have a comfy cone we use when we can watch. We have observed that our Clever little beastie may figure out how to wrangle out of it. The plastic cone can be connected better to a harness for extra security. Hopefully Friday will be her last cone head day. Is your email still the same? I have some info on the pet insurance.
