Yesterday we took Aiden to an old farm property that the owner has given us permission to use for tracking. I set a track and while the track was aging I took Aiden and did a little obedience.
After we finished the track I noticed 3 young men sneak into a large trailer that is on the property. Jack started to walk over to find out what they were up to when the property owner drove in. We told him what was going on and he told us that there has been a lot of vandalism to vehicles stored on the property. We called the Police to have a cruiser come to our location. Jack went over to the trailer to make sure the young men did not leave. There was a ramp from the ground to the trailer and a 4×8 sheet of lattice across the back of the trailer.
At first the young men would not respond to Jack. I was standing behind Jack and holding Aiden as Jack called for them to show themselves. Finally they came forward and moved the lattice out of the way. They started to look around and it seemed like they were assessing us and it was obvious that they wanted to run. Jack told them to stay right where they were or we would “send the dog”. I gave Aiden the command I use for “bark and hold” and he started to bark. The 3 young men looked at Aiden and decided to stay put. A Police Officer arrived and took over. The property owner was very pleased that we had decided to train yesterday on his property.
You can’t ask for anything better than this!
You all deserve a big fat steak!!!
Hahaha! I love it! Great job!
Wow — I can see how that would give the young men paws… I mean pause. I agree with Carole — big, fat steaks all around!
Good job, I would expect nothing less!!!
High fives all the way around! Just another reason to be proud of that handsome young boy….and Aiden too! 🙂
I love Aiden! This kind of story is every GSD owner’s dream – to have their dog be a hero.
Not sure who would intimidate me the most. Officer Burns or Big boy Aiden! Good job both boys.
