We started Nosework classes with Ember last week and have our second class tomorrow. She is enjoying it so far and loves to work. We’ve never done Nosework, so this will be fun to learn a new event. I’ve been taking her to agility practice as well, which she loves, although she has just discovered the zoomies while on the course. I’m surprised it has taken her this long.
Today we went to Horizon Elementary School again so the kids could watch her play outside. It was suppose to be a positive reward for them at the end of their day. I took a few balls, including her favorite jolly ball, and they all formed a circle around her while she played. Ask her to play, and she will not disappoint. She’s still a little crazy to let the kids pet her, but she handles the large crowd of kids and the loud buses very well. She also is good and doesn’t jump on the kids when they get too close. Progress! Here are some pics of her playing with one of her jolly balls this morning.
You both will love Nosework!
What a silly-goofy girl. The pictures make me smile!
She’s goofy alright! Her Nosework instructor describes her as exuberant. We had our second class last night and she’s really picking it up quickly. When the instructor told me to take her off leash to search, I thought she was nuts! I thought Ember would be everywhere but where she was supposed to be, but she really got to work and learned what she was supposed to do quickly. The last box was inside another box, on top of another large box so they had to look up. Ember found it within 2 seconds and then when I tried to put her leash on, she started to search for another box. She wasn’t done! 🙂
Seriously, she and Ziva are cut from the same stand of cloth. Of Course Ziva’s underline is much nices LOL. After nosework you will have to try tracking. Z-Evil one loves it. I am trying to find time to do that along with her and sister Libby’s other activities.
