Yesterday, December 28, was our Wedding Anniversary. We, of course, celebrated in the traditional way by entering Aiden in an agility trial in New Hampshire. We drove up to NH on Friday the 27th and took the dogs for a long walk at the picturesque Piscataquog River State Park.
A great place to let the dogs run off leash. One of the boys got the zoomies!
Having two tired dogs gave us the opportunity to go out to dinner.
Saturday morning we were at the agility site by 7:30am. Aiden’s first class was Novice FAST preferred which started at about 9:00am. There is no set course. You earn points by taking different obstacles of your choosing and have to complete a “Bonus” to qualify. This “Bonus” was very doable and Aiden was racking up a lot of points. Unfortunately after doing the tunnel (part one of the bonus) he was supposed to take the jump but went around it! I think he was looking at the other tunnel. Even though Aiden had not qualified I had time to send him into the bonus again and he did it perfectly.
His next class was Novice Agility Standard preferred which did not start until about 2:30pm. As you will see in the video, Aiden goes by the second jump. Thank goodness this is novice and he was not disqualified. I was able to call him off of the chute and get back on track. After that rocky start he settled down and was able to complete the course with no more faults. He qualified with a score of 85 and 1st place for his 2nd leg.
Our last run of the day was Novice Jumpers with Weaves preferred which did not start until well after 6:00pm. Aiden seems to do better the more tired he gets! He had a fantastic run for a young dog and qualified with a score of 100 and 1st place. This was his 3rd leg for his Novice Jumpers with Weaves preferred Title (NJP).
Aiden makes friends wherever he goes. People constantly comment on his great temperament and color.

Nice job and great pictures! If you ever come up to that venue again, let me know. I would love to drive over and meet all of you in person!
I saw the links on my iPhone but haven’t watched yet and they don’t show on my iPad. I prob need to update or something, but anyway….beautiful pictures of the park! What a life these dogs lead. I am jealous of them. I want you to take me for a walk in that park. Haha. But, who am I kidding? My thin as water Florida blood – the reality is I’d be like Libby and Ziva, curled up by a fire. You’re so cute celebrating your anniversary by entering an agility trial. But of course. Happy Anniversary to you and Jack. I hope you have many more years and many more trials at which to celebrate. You all get a blue ribbon.
Can’t think of a better way to spend an anniversary. Congratulations on Aiden’s latest accomplishments.
I love the picture of you two at dinner, you are the cutest couple! The last video of the JWW run…WOW!!!
Thank you for sharing your anniversary weekend with us!
Ditto on all of the above!
Now the real question is: Which one of your boys learned how to operate the camera and take that great photo of you two?
