Three new Ausdauerprüfungs (AD)! Congratulations to all! Pictured from the left: Jackie and Alta-Tollhaus Ulrich Maximus BH (U-litter), Margaret and Alta-Tollhaus Sawyer (S-litter), judge Mike Hamilton, Lisa and her Boxer, Caitlin and Alta-Tollhaus Ava (A-litter)…Ava pulled the whole 12+ miles and Caitlin hardly had to pedal. The pace for the Ausdauerprüfung is supposed to be 7 – 10 miles per hour for 12 miles, only they went farther because the judge did not know how to count. But it didn’t matter as all the dogs looked better then ever toward the end, actually looked like they were ready to go another 12+ miles.
Congratulations to all!!!
Yep, Congratulations! It takes alot of prep work and dedication to properly train for the AD, but it is time well spent. IMO
Jackie………nice attention.
DuKe’s Ma, Terri
What all is involved in the AD? Is there obedience as well as the biking? Congrats to everyone! I think that Ember would love this! She’s pulling me on the bike for 1 mile now. I can’t wait until we can work up to longer distances. She loves it! 🙂
Good job everyone.
WHoo-Hooo
Congratulations all.
People do train for it. We did just a little with Ava, a couple of 30 min sessions on the treadmill, and Caitlin biked down the drive to make sure she would be ok running next to the bike. That is all we did. I just knew it wouldn’t be a problem for her. Most of it they got to run on grass, if they had done it on pavement then that may have been an issue for their pads.
At the end I can honestly say Huck, Max, and Ava looked better then they did at the beginning, they were moving with longer strides, and not goofing off so much. They were ready for their next 13 miles. Yeah I know it is supposed to 12 miles.
