My mom is an idiot!!!!
This is day 2 of the Tonanwanda Kennel Club show last weekend.
Beginner Obedience leg 2 – check, with a second place score of 192 ( my sitter was malfunctioning on the figure 8)
Rally Novice leg 2- check – – what, we were NQ’d ????? Oh for crying out loud, Mom walked right past the last sign – halt, sit, it would have been a piece of cake for me, but NOOOOO, she walked right on by it. Geez, do I have to start reading these to her too????? Score before Mom messed up – 98!
To make it up to me we stopped at Hamlin Beach to swim in lake Ontario on the way home.
Oh Lisa….. You ding ding.
Okay don’t know what happened to the rest of my comment! Lol! Originally I said that I’m surprised you can’t read because you write so well. I always love your captions. I bet Ziva wasn’t nearly as upset as you were – In fact she doesn’t look like she cares at all.
Breezing by a sign is an easy thing to do!
Lookin’ pretty good, Ziva. You certainly found some good treasures during your swim.
It’s usually us handlers that mess up the Q’s, not the dogs, but I’m sure Ziva will forgive you. I’m sure you won’t make that mistake again. 😉
Sounds like me at Schutzhund training. It’s always me that makes the mistakes!!
Ziva is looking beautiful!
Ok Miss Z….I wonder if perhaps your Mom was concerned about your *sitter*…you said it was malfunctioning.
And, YES you do need to start reading the signs too. That way when your Mom has a brain fart, you can help her out.
Congrats on your 2nd Obedience leg! And, I can’t believe you actually put that HAT in your mouth…you have NO idea where it’s been…..LOL
Terri
The mention of a malfuntioning sitter was not that anything was wrong, but that the automatic sit when we halt was not there-as my husband said, you’ve have to be kidding me-this dog always does her sits. Well, apparently not at that moment. As Forrest Gump says “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get”. 🙂
Exactly Lisa!
And that one time in the ring that you can actually say…….”My dog has NEVER done that before!”
You never know what is going on in their heads when these things happen. You just remember that anything can happen. No matter how trained the dog is or how much you’ve proofed. Sh*t happens.
Terri
These dogs can do anything and I’m sure teaching them to read the rally signs could easily be part of their training! Come on, mommy needs all the help she can get. I worry about misreading or omitting signs all the time….so easy to do. Congrats on your 2nd leg. I love the lake pictures. Ziva is such a beautiful girl. Thanks for sharing.
Ziva looks gorgeous. And we’ve all walked past a sign once or twice….or maybe more than that, in my case. 😉
You are so funny Lisa…thank you so much for the laugh. Been a exhausting week and I needed that laugh.
Ziva is absolutely gorgeous! I love her head, coloring, and you can see the intelligence and mischief in those eyes.
Congratulations on the new leg! Congratulations on earning valuable ring experience! 🙂
Great story and pictures Lisa.
Congrats on your 2nd BN leg. It is easy to mess up those Rally signs.
Looks like Ziva had a super time at the lake.
Great job Ziva!! Don’t beat yourself up Lisa, I always get yelled at by our TD!
