You have to be so pleased with and proud of Aiden. He is quite the superstar isn’t he? And extremely handsome to boot!
Cudos to the photographer! Great action shots and the portraits are awesome too!
He looks like his momma! A very good thing. love the caption on the first picture. 🙂 The jumping is fantastic! I am very interested by the set up, is this your idea or your trainers? Is it to teach them to jump properly or helps them from clipping the boards? Inquiring minds want an explanation.
Great form in all the phases! Great work Lynda and Jack!!!
The jump training technique is Mario’s idea. This is what he said:
“It’s to teach them to jump broader besides the height. They learn to launch instead of just going closer and clear the jump. They have to tuck front and back feet… By avoiding the poles the jump becomes easy…”
They are all great photos — but the first one makes me laugh a bit. I think it is amazing that this is the same dog who is a Therapy Dog. Good thing he knows what he is supposed to do when.
Where did that fuzzy little puppy go????? He is doing so well, what a great job.

Is this your first IPO dog? He looks great though the only thing is I do shudder a little at the jump height on such a young dog. Did you xray to make sure growth plates are closed?
Yes, Aiden is the first dog I have trained in IPO. We have gone very slowly with him in both IPO training and agility training. I agree with you that this jump looks too high and wide. At training Mario was showing us this method of jump training and I had Aiden jump it. That was the only time he has done the jump set that way. Once every few weeks Aiden does the IPO jump at training but it has not been at full height. We also only let him have one long bite at training.
Aiden is doing agility also but I keep the jumps mostly at 16 inches and don’t do them often either.
We have not had him xrayed yet.
