Looking good, Digger! Happy 10 months to the D-Kids!
Oh, and a BIG shoutout to JOSIE!!
Happy Birthday, Josie!!
I’m researching hot spots on the blog. Lots of great information, as always it’s such a great resource (thanks Julie). I’ve never seen these on any of our GSD but after the research I think that’s what is giving Digger trouble. I’m sure it’s because he spent so much time in his kiddie pool and I didn’t get him dry enough on the front of his neck where he is so furry so of course I am feeling guilty:(. I started applying the Vetericyn last night but I think I need to trim his fur which should be real fun. Any suggestions on the best way to accomplish that? I’m also looking into dryers and welcome any recommendations you have.
Roman’s trainer highly recommends a forced air dryer. Roman had similar issues with his skin not getting totally dry. He did a lot of pond swimming when we were in Ohio and his neck fur got a little funky. The forced air really blasts away a ton of loose fur, as well.
Nancy,
I own the Metro Air Force Commander. It has 2 speeds and blows cool air that will warm up, depending on how long it takes to blow out a furry GSD. I’ve had mine for approx. 15 years and it looks and works like new.
As for the hot spot, you could try Colloidal Silver if the Vetericyn isn’t working. Depending on the hot spot, I do not always shave/trim the area. Let me know how he’s doing and you can call if you want.

Thanks for the info Rita. There are so many different kinds with various horsepower. I appreciate your help.

Happy 10 month Birthday Digs! 🙂
DuKes’ ma, Terri
If you lived closer you could bring him to one of our many meetings at work. All of the hot air blowing around there will have him dry in no time 😉
Hi Nancy, this is the dryer that I’ve used for, (YIKES!) almost 20 years. Yes, I purchased it when I was 12.
