Alta-Tollhaus Just a Singer (J-litter Xbox – Funny)
Went to northern California a couple of weeks ago. Singer needs 5 points for his AKC Herding Championship. Singer had never been to this place before and it would be a good test for him. The sheep are lighter (tend to run away easier) than he is used to. He did well qualifying on sheep two of three times. He did not earn any points but he did improve each run. With a total of 9-12 minutes total time of work, he improved his score each day and learned a lot. he also ran started duck runs and finished first and high in trial one day.
Last weekend was another trial. We were entered on A course sheep, Ducks and cattle. Even though we were not entered on B course we included in the cumulative score chance for a trophy this trial gives out to the highest none Border Collie. This is the third year for this trophy and Singer just missed winning the last two years coming in a very close second both times. To keep it short I’ll just list the outcome. Over the two days Singer qualified on all his runs. He had one 4th place, two third place, three 1st place, 1 Reserve High in Trial, 4 Championship points, 3 new titles and the all around trophy. He did great on cows as his confidence is slowly returning. When the trophy is finished with our info I will send a photo. Singer finished his started titles on ducks and cattle as well as his Masters Advanced title on sheep. Winning the trophy was a big suprise as he did not run on B course so some dogs had two scores we did not in thier cumulative total. Next is Spokane over Labor Day. Only one more point needed for the AKC championship.
I never get tired of reading about this chart topper! Awesome job—congratulations, Rich & Singer.
Ditto what Carole said:) Congratulations Team Singer!!!
Somehow I missed this when first posted.
Congratulations, always great to hear about Singer and his exploits.
He’ll be getting his gold record anytime now. He is for sure following in Mama Funny’s pawprints. Congratulations. He looks so noble next to his award.
I think platinum!
Congratulations Rich and Janis! I love reading your recaps of each run, it is so exciting.
I get the feeling this herding stuff can be very addicting?!??
When Karl Füller sold his farm and moved into town, he still kept a herd of sheep (yes in town) and he would still go out everyday with a couple of his dogs and his sheep. He would go through the streets and graze them on the government owned land where the power lines were. It was something he wanted to do everyday of his life.
