Aiden was entered in the New England Regional Conformation Show in Connecticut today. The show was hosted by the Quinebaug Schutzhund Club and judged by SV Judge and Koermeister Franz Kampenhuber. This was a well attended show with 84 dogs entered on a very hot and humid day.
In the Youth 12 – 18 month old male class there were 8 dogs shown. 4 dogs from Germany, 3 from the US and 1 from Norway (all 8 now live in the US). This was a very nice class of males. In catalogue order Aiden was 4th, after the judge made his first adjustments Aiden was in 6th place. A few more times around the ring and Aiden was moved to 2nd place. After several more laps he was moved to 3rd place. Aiden finished as SG3 out of 8 dogs. The judge said in his very brief critique that Aiden was “anatomically well structured, good movement, great dog”.
We managed to get a few pictures but as you know it is hard to photograph your own dog when double handling.

Many thanks to Sal from the Orange County Schaeferhunde Klub in NY for handling Aiden again for us. It was very difficult for the dogs, handlers and double handlers due to the fact that it was 90 degrees and very humid. Sal and Aiden did a great job!

After the show we stopped at Mansfield Hollow Lake to let the boys stretch and cool off
The spoils of a hard, hot day for Aiden
Double congratulations, particularly with the heat and humidity.
Congratulations, Aiden! You’re as handsome as ever!
My oh my, Aiden is such a handsome boy! Congratulations.
SUPER job!!!!
That sounds like such an exciting show! So cool how he got moved up and up and up! At 14 months he is still on the young side for thsi class, very good results Jack and Lynda! Congratulations!
How can you fish 24 hours when the park closes at sunset? please read the rules! LOL
Your dogs live a good life!
OMG…you are as observant as Jack.
I never even read the sign until I read your comment!! That is hilarious!
Great job with Aiden. Congratulations. Did the boys catch any fish?
Congratulations Team Aiden! I’m with Julie, that sounds so exciting, to be moved up like that!
Andrea, it WAS super exciting! Aiden was near the back of the pack. Then the judge called his handler into the middle of the ring and ofcourse Jack and I thought something was wrong….the judge held up two fingers and sent the handler and Aiden to second place! Eventually Aiden got moved to 3rd but we could tell the judge liked him.
That’s excellent! Remember when Walter shouted Matt into the ring to take Zeta from him then immediately left the ring? We didn’t understand what he had said and thought he no longer wanted to handle her. It turned out he knew it was going to take a while for all the dogs to be examined and left the ring to go smoke with his German buddies. Just like you though, we were horrified as we thought something was wrong!
Congrats Team Aiden!!!
Goooooo Team Aiden!!!! You guys ROCK, Congrats:)
