Roman has been busy the last few weeks. My chickens are 9 weeks old and he takes his job of watching the girls very serioulsly. I tell him to “platz” near the fence and he gets to work watching them. He likes the chickens to be together and not apart. I think that’s from his sheep herding. It’s so funny because the chickens are not afraid of him at all. His big nose has been around them since they were 1 day old. In other Roman news, we’ve been working hard at Obedience & Rally. Big trial in August and if I can remember my left from my right, we should get our first CDX and Rally titles 🙂
Isn’t it great how gentle these big creatures can be? Too funny that he wants to herd the chickens together.
Good luck at the trial in August.
So cool! I want chickens! Are these egg layers?
I can’t tell, did you make the pen so you can move it around?
Good boy, Roman!
Julie, remember the guinea hens?
Please, no chickens.
They’re all egg layers. Should be getting eggs in about 10-12 more weeks. The pen isn’t moveable. It’s just a temporary pen. We’re back in Michigan full time in about 3 weeks and the girls will have a nice run. I have 8 pullets and can get from 8-12 eggs/day. Good thing I eat lots of eggs. By the way…I’ll be making egg deliveries to your place 🙂
Julie, that’s a better deal that having to raise chickens yourself!
Eh—Rita, I LOVE eggs. Why don’t you swing by and drop off a few? 😉
SUPER!
Rita, where will you be trialing in Aug?
Roman is such a good boy, watching over the chickens. 🙂
DuKe had to learn…you don’t mess with Jack the African Grey.
Terri
We’ll be moving back to Michigan in a few weeks and will be training in Ann Arbor. There’s a trial in Youngstown in August that’s put on by a German Shepherd Dog club. I’ll get you details, if you’re interested.
