Yesterday was Ember’s last visit to Horizon Elementary School before their summer break. At her first visit, she was 8 weeks old, 13#, 13″ in height, and 21″ in length. Now she is 5 1/2 months old, 47#, 24″ in height, and 43″ in length. She is pretty famous at school. Many people ask me “is that Ember? I’ve heard of her” when I walk through. (I wonder if what they’ve heard is good or bad 🙂 ) One of the reasons that I took her to the school was to teach the kids that not every GSD is aggressive and not to fear them. I have worked with several kids that are afraid of dogs and shown them that bigs dogs are not so scary. The principal told me at my visit yesterday that a GSD was loose in the neighborhood on Monday and came into the playground with the kids. The dog belonged to one of the kid’s relatives. The kids approached it safely and were not afraid of it. They even played with it for a while. The principal was very happy that Ember has made a difference in their opinion of GSD. Ember has grown a lot since she has been going to school and has gained a lot of friends. I have heard a lot of “I love you, Ember!” at our visits.
Great job, you little cutie pie! Your momma can be very proud of you.
Oh this is so sweet! I am sure Ember was soaking up all those “love yous” and you also with great pride. What a heart warming story. Thank you Jennifer.
🙂
Good job Jennifer and Ember.
Ember is gorgeous – love her dark face!
