I am currently taking a nose-work class with Shotzie & Ernie.  Ranger and Judd are also in the class.  It was suggested that maybe I should purchase a puzzle / feeder for Shotzie to get her to use her brain.  Can anybody suggest a website where I can purchase something appropriate for my X litter sweetheart?  Yes, I know I owe photos.  Thanks!

This website has a pretty good selection: http://www.activedogtoys.com/collections/dog-puzzle-games

Also – hope you’re enjoying NoseWork! We think it’s a great activity!

No, they aren’t saying she doesn’t use her brain. : )

The class is with Angie. We had our third session and Angie commented on how Shotzie was much more focused and not as wild as she was in the first class. I have not been working with the dogs outside of class though, so it was suggested that Shotzie needs to use her brain to get tired out. Our dogs get plenty of physical exercise, but I guess we don’t do much to engage them mentally.

The class is fun. Angie really shares a lot of information on how the scent cone works and she points out what the dogs are doing. I’m sure I would miss some of the subtle changes in the dogs as they search if Angie wasn’t pointing them out. It is also nice to be able to take both youngsters to the same class.

The comment about Shotzie being worked up kind of took me by surprise, because I guess we are just used to her — and we rather enjoy her enthusiasm!
