HaHaHa! I love it when that big ol bad rake falls on his head! LOL
And then he steps on his leash, making it *impossible* for him to move!! :-))
Loooove his bark….so manly. Was he also growling at that bad rake?
Thanks for sharing…He is lookin good 🙂

Yes he was growling too, it was so funny to watch. We were over in another part of the yard gathering up our tools when he did it for the first time so Ron went and got the camera. Earlier I was trying to rake leaves which proved to be near impossible, he just kept attacking it. He sure makes yard work more fun!

He’s working really hard on his ears. We got him a couple of bones at the butcher on Friday and by Sunday they were looking pretty good. How is Duke doing?

Don’t let him have alot of the marrow. I did most of it out of DuKes’ bones.
DuKe-Meister is doing well. Getting ready for another round of puppy class aka socialization.
I started leaving his crate door open at night. His crate is in my bedroom and my door stays shut (Only room in the house that is nice and cool). The only time he is crated is when he is in the van, or at night. Even with the crate door open, he prefers to stay in his crate at night. That’s pretty good for a nosey puppy, IMO. 🙂
Oh and he has decided he is capable of being a lap dog! Yes! All of him! 🙂
He has also settled down enough to ENJOY being brushed! 🙂

Yes Carole and Julie cautioned us about the marrow so Ron removed most of it. Digger loves his crate too especially since it has a nice cushy comforter in it. Although I think he must have been cold last night, the room was about 64 and he was moving around a lot. I’m going to give him his other blankie in there tonight, he likes to snuggle it. I think he would love to be a lap dog like Duke if I’d let him on the furniture. He lets me cuddle him on the floor and for some reason loves to have is butt rubbed! He walks head first between our legs and stands there as long as we rub him. If we stop he just looks up as if to say “keep rubbing please”. How much does Duke weigh now? Digger hit 62 lbs last week.

Nancy,
I’ll have an updated weight on DuKe probably next week. Digger looks heavier than DuKe..stockier /more bone? Not sure.
DuKe loooves running between my legs..front and back. I use that too my advantage for recalls. 🙂 I throw the toy between my legs as he is running towards me…keeps his recall fast. 🙂
I think this must be something Julie does with the puppies…bc he came this way. 🙂

Yes he’s pretty solid and big boned. I’ll be interested to see how much Duke weighs. That’s a good tip for recall, I’ll have to use that one.

Oh…I forgot to ask…..How is the teething coming along? DuKe has one more upper canine (puppy) that is holding on….the rest of his baby teeth are out and all all 4 canines are visible.
Diggers’ ears look good. Do you still have supports in them? I couldn’t tell in the video.
Your Florida grass looks like my Ohio grass. 🙁 My Ohio grass should be WHITE…not GREEN! 🙁 Sorry for yelling…but I like snow.

He’s got some big teeth coming in and some trying to break through from what we can see. He doesn’t like us to look in there! Poor thing was bleeding a lot this weekend. We took his ear supports out because one was coming loose. We’re hoping they’ll continue to stay up otherwise Carole will reset them.

Green grass in OH in winter, bummer. We like snow too.

Good looking puppy! Kairo still attacks the rake or broom when I bring those out, so it is impossible to get much real work done but it is fun to see him so excited.

Any more detail on the marrow issue? I buy a 6-pack of Primal bones and we go through about a pack every 2 weeks. These beef bones have marrow in the center, but I haven’t noticed any issues with him (and he LOVES them!)

GSD are not suppose to have too much fat and marrow is very fatty. Personally I don’t scrape it out either, I don’t think they get enough fat at once from the marrow. But don’t tell Carole I said that.

As with everything, in moderation is OK. A marrow bone every day or even every other day would be too much. Now don’t bother me—I’m busy with my double quarter pounder with cheese. 😉

The rake gene must come thru Grandma Funny’s side. Libby is a terror with the rake-Maybe she thinks it is cutting into her fun time:)
