Duke your ears look just like mine! I love your blankie!
DiggerMan,
My Ma got this binkie at Kohls (she thinks)..but couple years ago. Yes, another Rudi hand me down, but it’s all good.
Hey, remember both my ears were up….then ka plooey..down one fell.
Love ya man, DuKe
Hi Carin – Digger is doing great! He weighed 52 lbs today. He is so sweet, loveable and funny. Last night he tried to get in the tub with me! He loves playing in the sprinklers too. I can’t wait for the pool to get warm so I can take him in.
If I didn’t know better it is like you are describing Deiter! Cadance really out did herself with this litter! It is funny I will be taking a shower and all of a sudden I will be feeling something licking my toes…
They are funny. Ever since we brought him home he’s either stands at the shower so the water splashes his face or he just comes right in. I think I’m going to get him a kiddie pool for the backyard so he can splash around.
I think it is the Grandma Funny gene. Ziva is fascinated by toes and is a certified toe biter.

Yes, I buy him tons of toys….but yogurt containers and empty boxes are more fun. Last night was our first night of Puppy Kindergarten. I was concerned that he was going to be the biggest pup there, and wallop all the other pups. There are only 2 pups that are smaller than him! ๐ What fun they all had…we did basic sit, down, and walk nice on loose lead. Then it was time for some baby Agility …we did the tire, tunnel, and dog walk (planks on the floor for now). He got to play with a GSD 3 months old and they had alot of fun together.
Julie, what do you think about his ear? He is heavy duty teething …and it was up before….should it be taped?
DuKes’ Ma, Terri
Julie is the expert. I can’t remember how old the D kids are, but Libby had 1 ear that kept going up and falling and I think she was 5 months before it went up and stayed up. We never taped it or used forms . She started out w/great tee pee ears and her ears told many stories before they stayed up. Ziva’s went up at 10 weeks and that was it. You boy’s ears look more like Libbys where she needed to grow into them ๐
The D kids are 4 months old. I gave DuKe a big meaty bone to help break his back teeth in and it has worked. Both sides broke through last night. I’m hoping this will ease some of his discomfort and he can concentrate on his ear. ๐ Now, this morning both ears were up…then down…then up again. I know they are both able to be erect…so when it’s time…I figure everything will come together. ๐
As far as the “Funny gene”…I won’t know til it’s warmer out and I can get the puppy pool out. ๐
Terri what kind of bone did you give Duke? Digger’s teeth are just under the skin. I know he’s hurting, he doesn’t even want his ice cubes and usually you can’t go to the freezer without him being right there to get some.
Hi Nancy,
I had some big, meaty beef bones from a butcher. They sorta look like big knuckles bones? There was alot of nice meat on them. I bought them for Rudi, but now they are DuKes. I gave it to him frozen solid and he loves it. It has all these nooks and crannies for him to gnaw on and I think that is what helped his molars break through. I let him chew on it for awhile…then I put it back in the freezer for the next day..there is still plenty of goodies on it. Do you know a friendly butcher? Might be time to make a visit. ๐

Too adorable! Don’t you just love him! Deiter’s ears are the same also…we put some supports in them a few weeks ago but one just came out today. So he is back to one up one down..too funny! To think it was only three weeks ago we were so proud of their teepee ears! Haha…
I know Carin! I think it was that next day..and DuKes’ ear just went flop. He is teething hot and heavy though. His back teeth are right there. I gave him a big meaty bone today, hoping that would help break them in.
