That’s so cute. Ruki loves to spill his water so I tried a no-spill bowl and it lasted about as long as Embers. So he gets a water dispenser in his crate that looks like something a rodent would use.

These companies can claim No-Spill but they’ve never tested their product on Alta-Tollhaus pups.

Way too funny, mostly because I can relate…. 🙂
Like Ruki, U-Rock used to help me wash the floors with all the water he dumped all over the place. Not only as a pup, but even months later.
I have finally purchased this flat sided pail for his water bucket & voila: problem solved.

Maybe you can find something similar to anchor his food bowl.
Isnt life great with these puppies????

Orly,
I wanted to get a flat sided pail for water, but I just haven’t gotten one yet. She has knocked over so many bowls of water. We have found a bowl for food that attaches to the side of the crate and she hasn’t figured out how to knock that down yet. It’s hard when your dog is smarter than you. 🙂

Do other Alta-Tollhaus dogs put every toy in the water bowl? Ruki has a regular water bowl for when he is not in the crate, and when we are playing he runs and puts every toy in the water. He even has me half convinced we cannot play with the toys unless they are sopping wet.

Ekko puts his favorite toy, a little plastic football, in his water bowl. If he thinks it’s time to eat, he drops it in his empty food dish.

Ziva still tries to play in the water bowl like the kiddie pool. She has to be watched when we 1st fill it. We have a flat sided pail secured in her crate for when she is confined.

There is no such thing as a no spill bowl for an AT dog.

Apparently not. We have found a bowl that bolts to the crate and that has kept her from knocking it down. She’s such a smart girl.

Wait til she figures out she can take the bowl contents in her mouth, spit it on the floor and play in it 🙂 It’s a whole new game and they are so proud to have thought of it when they do LOL

My husband says she’s like a cat because she would play with the food when she spilled it on the floor while carrying her bowl around. She hasn’t figured out picking the food out of her bowl and dropping it on the floor. Please don’t tell her! 🙂

Today, DuKe got one of his toys stuck under his raised food/water dish holder….yep…put his head under the whole thing and flipped it over…and got his toy back. Ofcourse, I had just filled his water dish!
Oh well good time to mop the floor.

Ember has to carry around any bowl she finds and she found Morgan’s bowl in a raised feeder. She pulled the bowl out of the feeder and spilled the water in the process. She is too smart for her own good. We went for a walk down the road, practiced going up and down stairs, and sit and down.

I can just now almost trust Deiter with his water bowl! Oh the pleasure he got out of watching the puddle form as the water went all over the floor…I learned quickly to lift the water dish as soon as he was done drinking.. I would try to time it just as he was getting ready to plop his paw in the bowl. I have been slowly starting to leave his dish down a little longer each time.
